Every so often, a name surfaces in the electronic music underground that makes you stop scrolling and actually listen. 2197 is one of those names — a U.S.-based EDM producer who isn't just making dance music, but crafting what they call "2190s Music" — a bold, forward-thinking vision of what electronic sound could become long after we're gone.
A Sound Built for the Future
The artist's bio is refreshingly unapologetic: energetic beats, happy vibes, hits, and a futuristic experience. And honestly? The music delivers exactly that promise. 2197 operates in the sweet spot between high-energy dance floor anthems and expansive, cinematic electronica. Think pulsing synthesizers layered over driving rhythms that feel simultaneously nostalgic and decades ahead of their time.
Tracks like "Solar Corona" and "Gravity Shift" lean into the cosmic — wide, shimmering soundscapes that evoke deep space imagery while keeping your feet firmly planted on the dance floor. "Return to the Moon" carries an almost wistful energy beneath its electronic pulse, while "Dancing in the Wave" and "Dance All Night" strip things back to pure euphoria — the kind of tracks built for that perfect moment when a festival crowd becomes one organism moving together.
The Underground Hustle
Here's what's genuinely fascinating about 2197's story: this artist has submitted music to radio 2,731 times. Let that number sink in. That's not a musician waiting to be discovered — that's a relentless creator who believes in their work deeply enough to keep pushing, track after track, submission after submission. With 17 radio acceptances and counting, the doors are beginning to crack open.
The Spotify following is still small, but in the world of independent electronic music, that only means you're early to the party. And being early to the party with 2197 feels like a genuine privilege right now.
Why You Should Listen Now
2197 represents something real in modern EDM — an independent voice with a distinct vision, abundant energy, and the kind of stubborn creative persistence that actually builds careers. Put on "Solar Corona", close your eyes, and let the future wash over you. You'll understand immediately.
